When Hadi, lead vokillz of Bruneian black death metal band Vehemence returned to W.P. Labuan, he was thinking of forming a black thrash metal band. During that time, the extreme metal scene in W.P. Labuan was conquered by the 1st generation of extreme metal bands such as Necrohell, Evil Massacre, Iron Blasphemy, Steel Tongue, Kristian Pigs, Mayyath, who would slay any weak christian souls, since the early 80's! This extreme metal scene begin to see it's dark age in 1995, as the same time the mighty Necrohell disbanded!
Naz, who just got transferred from Kota Kinabalu to W.P. Labuan because of his disciplinary problems while in Kota Kinabalu, was also looking to form an extreme metal band, as he's sick and fucking tired of watching so many grunge or MTV punk (should also be known as false punk!) bands emerging from the filthy island of W.P. Labuan!
Hadi and Naz has been keeping in contact, since Hadi was still in brunei during his days with Vehemence in 1993! So both of them meet up in Zoom, a small bar in W.P. Labuan, discussing about forming an extreme metal band. Naz would ask his cousin Azarul, who is also staying in the same house with him, to fill in the drummer position. Najeebz, Naz's close friend was summoned to fill in the guitarist position. So they went to rehearsal studios practicing their favorite cover songs mostly from Darkthrone, early Sodom, Nebiras, Suffercation (Day of Darkness), Impaled Nazarene (Tol Crom's album), and more Darkthrone! Definitely Naz and Hadi's no. 1 favorite band that time! Although both of them are big fans of old school thrash and death metal, Slayer! Destruction! Voivod! old Metallica! Cannibal Corpse! Monstrosity! Death! Obituary! Dismember! Morbid Angel! But they never played any cover songs from these bands because of their limited ability at that time.
Mid of 1995! After a couple of months rehearsing with this band, which hasn't found a fucking name yet! They met Eddie! A chinese metal maniac from Kota Kinabalu at the rehearsal studio in W.P. Labuan. Eddie is from black metal band, kalabangan, based in Kota Kinabalu. When Eddie first met Naz, Hadi, Najeebz and Azarul rehearsing in the studio (Chi Tong), he immiedietly introduced himself, right after the guys stepped out from the reheasal room! At that time, Eddie gave this band a name, Waffath! Since they do not have a proper name yet, that time! However, even Naz himself have no fucking idea what does Waffath means! This weird fucking mortal Eddie is actually the person responsible for the name Waffath! As of june 21st 1995, this band's moniker is officially known as Waffath! After that, Waffath began to compose their own songs, Eddie also contributed his ideas, writing lyrics for several songs. During that time, Waffath have already come up with songs such as Almighty Lucifer! Under the Nunok trees! Blood for Satan! And Jesus fucking mary! Lyrics are all written by Eddie, Waffath's music was highly influenced by Darkthrone and Celtic Frost! Waffath was also one of the few bands that was hated that time by several band who claimed themselves as gods and true! Not only that, Waffath also received negative reviews and condemned by the so called "labuan rock kapak jiwang" musicians! Waffath did not give a fuck to all that shit because these guys definitely know what they are doing that time!
Most unfortunately Waffath did not get a chance to record their songs, due to personal problems, Hadi left the band soon after Waffath was already fit enough to enter the studio! And at the same time Eddie also dissapeared mysteriously, where no one knows where he went! The last time Naz heard about him is when he formed an old school punk rock band in the veins of Sex Pistols, Misfits, etc, in Kota Kinabalu.
So all of Waffath songs were buried without sign...
